If you find ants in your home, here are a few steps to help you to get rid of those ants.

The first step is to try to find what is attracting the ants inside in the first place. Are there dirty dishes in your sink? It could even be your cat or dog food dish that may be attracting the ants. You can first try to just clean up whatever the ants were attracted to, and then hopefully the ants will move out on their own.

The next step would be to eliminate the scouting trails of the ants. You cannot simply wipe off the ants because scout ants leave pheromones behind so that other ants can find their trail. You can eliminate the trail by spraying the area with a mixture of three parts water to one part vinegar.

The last step is to try to repel the ants from returning by using a product with boric acid, make sure you read the instructions carefully because some may be harmful to children and pets, around the entry point for the ants. You could also try a natural mix of peppermint or lavender oil with water instead of chemicals to spray around those entry points.

These few easy steps will help you to reduce those pesky indoor ants.
