No one likes for things to take a lot of time. When selling or buying a new house, there are so many things to take care of that an inspection just feels like another burden that needs to be handled.
So, how can you make sure that your inspection takes as little time as possible? As with so many other things, preparation is the key.
Anything that you are aware of that is broken or malfunctioning should be taken care of before the inspection starts so that the inspector doesn’t have to spend time on those items. This includes simple things like attaching faceplates to wall receptacles and changing out broken light bulbs.
Clearing out debris and brush from all areas of your home that the inspector will need to access is also important. This is especially true for the area around your air conditioning unit, your heater and any electrical panels.
