Are you an avid DIY person? Some homeowners are and others aren’t but it can definitely save you a lot of money and headaches if you are able to do some simple things yourself. Take replacing a showerhead for example.

You might be frustrated with a showerhead that is spraying all over the place, that is leaking, or just looking dated. If you are worried that you won’t be able to replace it yourself, you should stop right now. As long as you make sure the water to the shower is turned off, you’re very unlikely to have a major incident. And, if the showerhead is stuck for some reason, you always have the option of getting a tradesman to do it for you after you have given it a try.

If the showerhead is really stuck on there, you shouldn’t try to force it off since you could do damage to the pipe. In many cases though, you should be able to remove it without using any tools, which will minimize the risk for damage.

It is important that you clean off the pipe well before putting on fresh silicone tape and attaching your brand new showerhead, otherwise there might be leaks in the future.
