Planting trees in your yard can be beautiful. If you are shopping around for trees to put in your yard, here are four trees you may want to avoid planting.

A Callery pear has beautiful white flowers, but the problem with a Callery pear is that the branching structure can be weak, which can cause storm damage in areas with wind, ice, or snow. Also, this pear tree is considered an invasive species in many states. Another tree to avoid is a Siberian Elm. This tree can tolerate many kinds of difficult growing conditions, but it is also messy and seeds itself all over. This is another weak-wooded tree. So it is also prone to storm and ice damage. The next tree to avoid planting is the Tree of Heaven. This tree is dirty, invasive, and messy. It also makes landscaping around it difficult because it gives off a chemical to kill competing vegetation. A Lombardy poplar is the last tree you will want to avoid planting. These trees are great for growing quickly and providing a screen, but they have a limited life of about 15 years.
