When it comes to organizing your home, sometimes we can make the house more cluttered than when we started. Here are a few organizing tips to try to help you to get your home more organized and to reduce the clutter.

The first tip to try is to ask yourself if an item is something that you really use or need. If you have several specialty small appliances, maybe pare down to just the appliances that you use multiple times each year. Another example would be clothing. Have you worn them within a year? If not, donate or get rid of the items.

Another tip is organizing all your loose papers. Have one area where you sort all your mail. You may also want to try digitizing receipts and documents when you don’t need to keep physical copies. Make sure too that you shred any papers that have your personal information on them.

The last tip is to keep your donation bag or basket in full view, instead of placing the bags or baskets in closets where we tend to forget about them. Once that container is full, make the trip to donate the items.

These are just a few tips to help you to stay more organized and to help you keep your home clutter-free.
