When you clean your ceiling fans, do you make a huge mess? Here are a few tips to help you to clean your ceiling fans without making that mess.
The first tip is to clean your fan blades with a pillowcase. After you make sure your ceiling fan is off, lightly spray the inside of an old pillowcase with either a solution of vinegar and water or with an all-purpose cleaner. Then slip the pillowcase over a blade and pull back as you wipe. This will trap any debris or dust inside the pillowcase. Next, if needed, use a microfiber cloth to wipe any remaining buildup.
Another tip is to wipe your ceiling fan lightbulbs with a dry microfiber cloth. Of course, make sure the lightbulbs are cooled completely before dusting. Then if you have any glass globes around the lightbulbs, remove these and wash them with warm soapy water.
The last tip is to try to clean those fans in the spring and in the fall to help you to reduce dust buildup, which will help you to keep the mess down.
These are just a few tips to help you to clean your ceiling fans without making a huge mess.
